Topic:  Youth Change making: Case Studies of Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Reese Wong is a young changemaker and Founder of ISSIA HK (issiahk.org), a youth-led nonprofit that champisons global citizenship education, empowering young changemakers through peer-to-peer and project-based learning.

Since 2019, ISSIA has involved over 300+ students from 80+ schools in Hong Kong and beyond, launching 30+ projects surrounding SDG 4 and 17. Reese’s work has been featured on the World Economic Forum, Nasdaq, SCMP, RTHK, and more. Reese is currently a UNESCO HK Youth Ambassador and was a Youth Delegate at UNITE 2030 and YOUNGA 2021.

As a speaker, he has spoken at 30+ engagements, including the World Humanitarian Forum and the Asia Pacific International Schools Conference. As a passionate advocate for youth empowerment and the Sustainable Development Goals, he aims to lead, innovate and catalyze long-term social impact. He currently works at Ashoka, the world’s largest community of social entrepreneurs and is a Enlight China Fellow at the Watson Institute.

Topic: “On Learning and Acquisition: Linguistic Implications of Teaching English in the Philippine

Curriculum”

Dr. Jose Elmer Oficiar is a college and graduate school professor of the University of Mindanao Tagum Branch. He has been teaching English, Linguistics and Literature for 15 years in the said institution. He is an active researcher of LGBTQ+ topics and considered to be one of the prime movers for inclusivity of gay teachers in the academe which lead him to be awarded the “Pride Excellence Award” on his research in “Morpho-Semantic Analysis of Gay Lingo” given by the City Government of Tagum. He is a Peer Reviewer and consultant for research in various institutions in the Region. He was invited to be the Chief Speaker for Australasia International Model United Nations and delivered a topic on “The Value of Research in International Diplomacy”. He is a published author of books in Communicative English and Philippine Literature. And, once served as one of the Lead Auditors for ISO 9001:2015 in his school until 2019.

Topic: How to Be A (Better) Creative Leader

Hazriq Idrus is a stage actor turned professional speaker and workshop leader who specializes in the areas of Creative Leadership & Communications. He founded The Speaking Factory Pte Ltd with a mission to help leaders and teams connect, communicate and co-create effectively. Hazriq authored, “The Stage Fright Antidote!” a self-help book to facilitate people overcome presentation anxiety; and co-authored 8 other books.  Besides serving as an adjunct lecturer on innovation & design thinking modules at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Hazriq is still heavily involved in the performing arts to keep himself adept in the areas of creativity and creative thinking.

Dr. Yoshiko Yamaguchi has received her Ph.D. at. Kyushu University during the period of 2013-2016. Currently, she is working as a research associate in Home Care Nursing, at the Faculty of Nursing, Kwassui Women’s University, Japan. She has successfully completed her responsibilities as a reviewer of eighty-one research articles in twenty-four journals from 2016-present. And she has been serving as an editorial board member of two journals; LIFE: International Journal of Health and Life-Sciences and Journal of Practical and Professional Nursing and has been delegated vice president of the Healthcare and Biological Sciences Research Association (HBSRA).

Malini Nair

Program Advisory Member of the Quality Program in the Business Division at Sharjah Women’s Campus, United Arab Emirates

Topic: Quality Management and Organizational Excellence

Malini Nair is a Business Faculty at the Higher Colleges of Technology. She teaches classes in Quality, Auditing, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Management and Leadership as well as Economics. She is interested in the use of interventions, technologies, and tools that facilitate group/team processes and lead to better task outcomes through Quality standards. She has developed and taught several courses related to Quality, HR, Innovation, Marketing and Economics to both MBA and undergraduate students. She is currently a member of the Program Advisory Committee for Quality at the University level. She is a Doctoral candidate pursuing her PhD in Business and Management. She has written several research papers and continues do so. She has received a SEED grant for one of her research papers. She is actively involved in Community projects and her forte is mentoring and encouraging her students to actively participate in these initiatives.

Prior to her appointment as a faculty she has an immense amount of industry experience especially in the retail sector in the UAE. She studied Economics Honors and attended the prestigious Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) in India where she obtained her Master’s degree in Business Administration. She went on to work as a Group HR Manager and continued to teach as she believes in sharing the knowledge gained through the industry. Her initiatives at the college level have been highly commended
